Tell if you are being lied to

Know the mutant; kill the mutant. This Chinese idiom reminds you that if you are lied to you would be failed desperately. You must commond the skills of telling if your opponents are telling lies. In business, politics and romance, it would be nice to know when we’re being lied to. Unfortunately humans aren’t very good at detecting lies. Our natural tendency is to trust others, and for day-to-day, low-stakes interactions, that makes sense.
In fact, being able to distinguish lies from truth is important not just in our personal lives but in the economy at large. Trust lubricates virtually every transaction we undertake. It’s no stretch to argue that by reducing trust, liars make us collectively poorer.
One way to test for lying, is to watch carefully on his or her body language. Often when people lie, they try too hard to be natural, and they give more detail than is necessary. And forced smiles. A real smile involves more muscles, while a forced smile will use just the muscles around the mouth. The lie here may only be about their feelings, of course.
Another way to test for lying, is to measure a persons desire to avoid a subject, which will sometimes indicate dishonesty or guilt. If you think the person is lying, change the subject quickly. A lying person will often go along easily, and may even visibly relax. An innocent person is more likely to be slightly confused by the change and want to finish their thoughts.
Liars’ stories often lack detail, says Lindsay Moran, a former CIA officer and author of Blowing My Cover: My Life as a CIA Spy. Her solution: Push your subject for particulars. The more minutiae a liar has to provide, the more likely he is to slip up. Suppose your wife Jane says she was at her mother’s house, and you think she is lying. Rather than saying, “I’m calling your mother to verify this,” you could use a subtle approach. You might say, “That reminds me, I’m going to stop by your mother’s house today to fix that door for her.”
But you should apply these methods carefully on approperable opponents. If your wife was lying, the idea of you seeing her mother should make her nervous. She may give you reasons why you shouldn’t go there. Of course, if your relationship has reached the point where you feel the necessity to resort to these techniques, a simple lie may not be the worst of your problems. Still, sometimes you need to know, so here are a few more ways to tell if someone is lying.
They are using your words. Using your exact words to respond can be an indication of lying. You say, for example, “Did you leave this here?” and they respond, “No, I did not leave this here.” They use un-contracted words. A lack of contractions is more common when lying. For example, instead of saying “I didn’t sleep with her,” a man might say,” I did not have sexual relations with that woman.” Again, compare to base behavior, though, as some people may not use contractions often anyhow.
For most of us, though, it’s not magicians or criminal masterminds we need to worry about when it comes to detecting deceivers. In fact, we should be most on guard against ourselves. “Often we don’t want to know when somebody is lying.” In short, we are programmed to believe compliments and avoid painful truths, both of which make a liar’s task much easier.

Espresso

Espresso is not a bunch of apps thrown together. Instead, we looked at the needs of web developers and streamlined their workflow into one gorgeous, focused app. The coffee is ground so small, it’s almost a powder. It was invented in 1843 by Edward Loysel de Santais and premiered at the Paris Exposition of 1855. Espresso.com offers a wide selection of espresso coffee machines perfect for the commercial, home and office environment.
The first espresso machines were introduced at the beginning of the 20th Century, with the first patent being filed by Luigi Bezzera of Milan, Italy, in 1901. Up until the mid-1940s, when the piston lever espresso machine was introduced, it was produced solely with steam pressure. When the spring piston lever machine was invented, commercial success was huge as it pertained to espresso machines. The same type of spring piston lever that was used in the late 1940s to make espresso is the same one that is used today.
You will want to texture milk for lattes, cappucchinos, and so on. There are 4 important steps that you should always remember.
Fill your milk pitcher about half way. Place the wand into the container, just lightly skimming the surface of the milk. Turn the steamer on.
Continue the “stretching” process until the thermometer reaches about º100F. The purpose of skimming the surface is to introduce air into the milk, creating a foam-like texture. It is very important that you do not create any big bubbles, just very little ones.
At around 100ºF, submerge the wand down into the milk. This is the “rolling” process. Now you are creating a whipping and swirling movement, which makes the foam more textured and thicker. Continue to steam until about 180ºF. The milk will grow as it gets hotter. (This is why you should only fill it about half way up.)
Turn off your steamer first. Pull the pitcher down and remove from the wand. Always wipe your wand as soon as possible with a very warm cloth, as leaving milk on it will ruin the boilers.
There are several differences between espresso and coffee. Espresso is a chemically complex fluid and is comprised of three different parts: the body, the heart and the crema. The latter is the most distinguishing characteristic of espresso, and is a reddish brown foam that floats on top of the espresso. Made out of proteins, sugars and vegetable oils, crema has elements of foam colloid and emulsion.
In the United States, Tampa’s and Miami’s influx of Cuban refugees brought their love of espresso with them although espresso consumption was limited largely to the Cuban community; see cafe con leche. Cities with large Italian-American populations like San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Chicago have long traditions of espresso drinking, with the North Beach area in San Francisco being perhaps the most well known.
With the rise of coffee chains such as Starbucks, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Dunn Bros Coffee, Biggby Coffee, Caribou Coffee, and others, espresso-based drinks rose in popularity in the 1990s in the United States, with the city of Seattle being generally viewed as the fount of the modern interest. In addition to the Italian style of coffee, these chains typically offer variations and innovations by adding syrups, whipped cream, flavour extracts, soy milk, and different spices to their drinks.
Because espresso is so intense and concentrated, it mixes well with other liquids to form different coffee based drinks. When mixed with milk, hot water, sugar or chocolate, you can turn espresso into lattes, mochas, cappuccini and macchiati. It turns out, the question of ìwhat is espresso?î is one that takes a longer amount of time than expected to answer.

LG Viewty

The LG Viewty is really a successor to the LG Prada although without the designer brand. Delivering advanced mobile handsets, it offers excellence in all its models by giving them stylish profiles and sophisticated functions. If it weren’t for the mediocre music functions and the lack of storage space, this would be the handset Apple should have designed instead of the iPhone.
But as a touch screen camera phone, this device, also known as the LG KU990 is a superb handset at a fraction of the price of many competitors with a similar feature set. This handset is in a quality black shell with smoothed edges. Much like the iPhone, the focus is on a thin handset with a large touchscreen on the front. The 3 inch screen doesn’t extend to the edges of the unit like on the iPhone, but is sufficiently large to provide a great video and photo viewing experience as well as functional email and web browsing. This camera phone includes 5 mega pixel camera featuring manual focus, an image stabilizer, and ISO800 Smart Light technology, thereby facilitating excellent photography experience even in dim light or poor weather. The mobile is considered as a high technology mobile phone with fast video recording function i.e.120 frames per second.
At the bottom of the touch screen are convenient physical buttons for Call, Cancel and End Call. It did feel a bit odd having these buttons at the bottom of the handset as they would normally be at the top of a physical keypad. On the right side of the unit there is a switch for choosing between camera, video and playback settings, as well as a shutter button for taking pictures, perfectly placed for landscape shots. On the “back” of the handset surrounding the camera lens there is a jogger wheel that can be used for quickly scrolling up and down on menus, although its placement is perhaps quite likely to result in finger marks on the camera lens over time.
With an elegant look, the handset represents 3G smart phone encompassing several innovative features like touch sensitive screen, video editing and video recording. Next to Apple’s iPhone, the LG KU990 Viewty is quite successful in achieving a dominating place in the customer’s mind. Especially if you observe its exquisite digital camera features, it offers crystal clear images similar to DVD-like quality. It gives amateur and laggards a dedicated camera to experience priceless photography.
The 5.1 megapixel camera rivals that of the Nokia N95 and Samsung G800 in a much nicer package. The quality of the images from the Schneider Kreuznach lens on the LG Viewty doesn’t quite match up to the quality from the Carl Zeiss lens of the Nokia N95 but the Viewty still wins the prize for the best touch screen camera phone. It is the ancillary features of the Viewty’s camera function that are more impressive. It has an image stabiliser that reduces blur when taking photos in those trickier or perhaps hurried situations. It also has the ability to take photos at 800 ISO improving nighttime shots even before you use the quality xenon flash. The flash is also a bit disappointing in comparison to other cameras with xenon flash but it is still far better than any LED light on a camera phone.
The Viewty is unique amongst other LG mobile phones and has wide TFT-LCD 3-inch touch screen supporting 240 x 400 WQVGA resolutions. It has in-built editing software, handwriting recognition software, DivX playback, You Tube and TV output function. The mobile also has user-friendly document viewer supporting TXT, DOC, XLX, PDF, and PPT files. The Jog wheel makes manual operation quicker and easier. It can be used for zooming in/out while capturing images or videos. It has 100MB internal memory and MicroSD card extendable to 2GB for storing images, videos, files and songs.
This phone is definitely one of the best on the market. It is the best phone i have ever had that’s for sure. It’s camera amazing! MP3 player-amazing! It’s a really good phone as well as really stylish. A bit on the big side, but it is to be expected with a phone with all the stuff this one has! Definitely worth the money.

Skill of Best Wine Selection

Wine has always been a necessory part of people’s life from its birth. Even before the days of mythologies, there was already Bacchus, the god of wines. Kings and queens all over the world dined with the best wines. But today we think it is difficult to make a choice which wine should be choosen due to the variety of wine.
If you are confused of what the rules are when it comes to best wines, this article is just an approprate answer.
First the rule for best wine does exist basically. Wines complete a fine-dining experience, so when you’re stuck with one, keep in mind the cardinal rule. As they say, when you’re eating meat, make sure you pair it with red wine. The white wine, on the other hand, is fit for chicken and seafood.
Second go for chardonnay for something creamy. You may end up in cocktails too where foods are usually paired with cream sauces. Sometimes you may have to content yourself in a cheese party. Whatever situation you’re in, however, make sure that you get to pick creamy wine, including Merlot and Chardonnay.
Do not choose your wine on communion, but on personality. If you ever get invited in a get-together, and you’re asked to bring the best wines, ensure that they’re something they can all drink. It will be ideal if you can start with safe wines, such as red and white wine. They’re very basic, and most likely, the guests have already tasted them. If you like something heavy but aren’t sure how other attendees are going to take them, go for merlot, especially the softer ones, rather than heavy wines.
Forth, the price of wine should be your consideration. You have to remember that majority of the best wines are not free. Of course, the rarer the wine the more expensive it gets. So before you shop for bottles of them, consider your budget. Nowadays, costly ones are priced $30 and above. If you’re in a tight budget, you can always select those that are $15 or less. To save you time, you can always look for them in the World Wide Web.
Fifth, learn more information of the wine you will buy. Observing your wine goes a long way. If it’s possible, you can always ask the salesperson to have you smell or take note of the appearance of the wine. This is to ensure that you’re picking high-quality bottles of the best wines.
Sixth, look carefully at the information labelled at the back. If you’re truly serious about wines or you’re curious about them, you can always look up to great resources that you can find all over the World Wide Web or even in books. You can also read reviews from great food critics.
Last, appreciate the art of drinking best wines. Definitely, you shouldn’t drink wine just because everybody is. More so, make sure that the wine you have chosen is something that you love.

Tips for purchasing ceiling fans

No other decorations is economic and convenient than a fun in your ceiling. Ceiling funs have been in existence for a long period of time with them being popular amongst many businesses and homes. The ceiling fan market is very catering at this point of time with various blades, lighting options and numerous speeds etc. You could do your preference step by step at ease.
First you should make sure the size of funs that match your room. It is safe to say there is a fan out there which suits various individuals. Obviously you need to get a fan which fits your room in the most ideal manner. For rooms which are approximately 100 square feet in size, a 36 inch fan is probably ideal, for rooms which are larger, you need to look at bigger fans.
Second you need to learn the advantages and disadvantages of indoor or outside fans, it may not surprise you to learn that indoor fans are not waterproof and as such do not have waterproof wiring etc and therefore should not be installed outside even if you live in very hot conditions where it does not normally rain. So be sure you know the location of where the fan will be placed first.
Third the style of a fun may be taken into your consideration now. This is a lot harder then you may think, because you may immediately see a fan which takes your eye, however after purchasing the fan and installing, you may decide that it simply isn’t for you. A good rule of thumb is to look at other decorations etc in your house and make a purchase around that. It must suit the entire settings, or it will destroy the general aesthetic feeling unconsciously.
Next consider whether you wish the fan to serve as a heater as well as a cooler. If you wish for the fan to be multipurpose, then opt for one which blows air upwards in the cool weather and down in warm weathers when you need cooling.
One of the more important aspects of fan purchase, is the support of the fan. Whilst most packages come with the appropriate support package, you can get more customised arrangements to make the most of your fan. So again this is a key moment in your purchasing decision.
Finally you should consider what lighting you require? Do you have an existing light that you wish to keep? Or are you happy having a fan and lighting combination? This is obviously a point you need to consider before your purchase. You would charge for the most economic products without a doubt at last.

An Introduction of Taste of Italian Wine

It’s true that the Italians were not the first to invent wine. But in contrast to any other people throughout history, they have demonstrated a serious passion for it. Italy is the largest producer of wine. This makes sense because the Romans made the most contributions to the ancient art of viniculture.
No one has to explain that the Italians are passionate people to start with- about romance, art, culture, family. The Romans loved their wine, drinking it with every meal, which is why the Italians care so much to perfect the production process and quality of taste.
The origin of wine actually lies in ancient Mesopotamia, near present-day Iran, sometime between 4000-3000 B.C. The Greeks, who settled in southern Italy and Sicily, exported the art of wine-growing to Italy. They were so impressed with the mild Italian climate which was perfect for producing wines that they called Italy, Oenotria, or the land of trained vines
The Romans, in particular, obsessed enough about the Greek process to later refine it and make improvements. The many contributions the Romans made to the art of wine-growing included using props and trellises, improving the Greek presses used for extracting juice, classifying which grapes grew best in which climate, and increasing the yields.
From 300 B.C. until the Christian era, the demand of wine soured greatly in quantity and held in a high level. Because the population reached over one million people and everyone, including slaves, had a huge craving for wine. The Falernian region, which is near Naples, was the most popular with the Romans, especially around 300 B.C. Also, surprisingly, they preferred white wine to any other one.
The Romans loved their wines and drank it at every meal, experimented with various spices, and created wine with much higher alcohol content than ours today. The Romans also discovered which grapes were best suited for certain climates. One step further, there are some grapes that grow mainly in Italy because of the unique climate that is not found in other areas. Examples of these are Chianti’s Sangiovese, Barolo’s Nebbiolo, Corvina, and Arneis.
As for taste, the Romans exhibited good taste first by deciding that aged wines tasted better and preferred wines that were ten to twenty-five years old. They discovered that wines which were kept in tightly closed containers improved with age and became the first to store it in wooden barrels. They may also have been the first to use glass jars and they also used corks.
The popularity of wine in Italy rose and fell with the Roman Empire, although it was always being produced, at least by Christian monks. With the Renaissance came new inspiration for the taste, or the taste created new inspiration for the time- one or the other!
Not until the 19th and 20th centuries did the quality of Italian wine diminish slightly, so the government began to regulate the industry through a series of labels, as indications to the public that certain requirements have been met regarding mainly production, quality, and taste standards. Categorizing wine in today’s market could be a topic for a novel, but briefly, there are 5 basic labels.
The DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) is a label given to certain winemakers to indicate a superior wine. This literally means “Denomination of Controlled and Guaranteed Origin”. To obtain this label, the winemaker must past through very strict guidelines pertaining to production, quantity, alcohol content, aging, as well as taste. Other labels that have less stringent requirements include DOC (Denominazione di Origine Contollata), VQPRD (qualità prodotti in regione determinata ), IGT (Indicazione Geografica Tipica), and VDT (vino da tavola). The last 3 classifications fall under the “table wine” category.
Today, Italy is most noted for its noble reds such as Chianti Classico, Barbaresco, Barolo and Brunello but a wide array of popular white wines are also produced including Pinot Grigio, Soave and Arneis, as well as sparkling wines such as Asti and Prosecco. The depth and breadth of Italian wine encompasses everything from bone dry to ultra-sweet, red, white, rosé, sparkling and fortified. From simple sippers to ultra-premium collectible treasures, Italy has it all.

The Vulnerabilities in Negotiation

Negotiation is considered as a compromise to settle an argument in a mental and emotional game. Much of the result is dependent on the emotional strengths and vulnerabilities of the parties and, of course, their skills at capitalizing on these strengths and vulnerabilities.
There are several key vulnerabilities to be aware of in negotiation.
“Let us never negotiate out of fear” — famously declared John F. Kennedy in his 1961 Inaugural Address — “but let us never fear to negotiate.” These are words by which to live — or die. There is an old Chinese proverb that says that more sick people are killed by their own fear than are killed by the disease. There are all sorts of fears that weaken your position; fear of missing out, fear of messing up, fear of looking stupid and fear of being out negotiated are some of the more common fears that make you vulnerable to the skills of an experienced negotiator.
Greed and fear often dominate negotiation. Greed for the maximum return. As settlement approaches, fear and greed combine to make both sides believe that if they pushed just a little bit harder they might get a bit more. They no longer ask whether they could live with the deal themselves, but whether the other side might be pushed further. This is a natural sign of lack of self-confidence. Most people have some degree of greed and it is important to be aware of this in yourself and manage it, and also be aware of it in your opponent and capitalize on it.
In an era of globalization, transnational law practice, and internationalization of domestic law, students ignore cultural norms at their peril because ignorance of these norms can derail negotiations. The task for educators, therefore, is to provide negotiation students with a culturally inclusive framework for understanding ethical decision-making. If you don’t know what you are doing then it is hard to do a good job. There are two areas where ignorance can create weakness in negotiation. The first is lack of knowledge of negotiation techniques and strategies. The second is in poor pre-negotiation research.
If a buyer has a strict and impending deadline and they are having trouble finding solutions then they are vulnerable to a seller with an appropriate solution. On the other hand, if a seller has a time sensitive solution and the buyer has lots of options then the closer the deadline comes the greater the vulnerability of the seller.
If your need to make the deal is stronger than the other party’s need to make the deal then you are in a vulnerable position, as soon as the other party becomes aware of this situation. For this reason skilled negotiators develop the ability to disguise their true level of need.
Vulnerability in negotiation is something to protect yourself against and also something to capitalise on if it is the other party who is vulnerable. Look for the signs of vulnerability and become skilled at all the techniques that allow you to protect yourself from it and also to capitalise on it.

Preparing interview for the second job

You got a big fortune if you’ve gotten through the first job interview. And you’re moving on toward the second one, the odds of being hired have just gone up. With that in mind, you really want to be prepared for that second job interview.
You owe the advantage that named experience. Of course you have known the benefit and damage of what you have done. You could learn from the first lesson. The questions will be tougher and things will be more complex in a second interview. Make sure that you dress appropriately and that you are on time. You probably did that for the first interview, too, but make sure you do it for the second one, since that’s likely going to be where the final decision is made about hiring you or hiring someone else who presented himself or herself better. If you find that you’ll be late for your interview for any reason, call ahead. Let someone know. That’s much more responsible than breezing in the door fifteen minutes after your scheduled appointment time and saying you’re sorry you’re late but traffic was bad, etc.
The second lesson would be the role of a spy. What you should do is make sure you know about the company before you go to that second interview. You can’t know everything, but you can Google the company and read what is said about it. You can visit its Website if it has one. You can also see if it has a Wikipedia entry. If it’s a big company, it probably does - and some smaller companies do, too. In a word it is suggested that you gather as much information as you can.
While you should make yourself capable of differentiating in the sea of words. It’s never wise to believe everything you read on the Internet, this kind of information will give you a lot of knowledge about the company overall, and you’ll notice things that don’t match up properly. If you’ve done anything very important in between a first and second interview, such as received an award or completed your degree, be sure to update your resume and bring the new one to your interview.
The most important is you should be self-confident at any time. There’s no shame in letting your potential employer know that you’re still moving forward with your goals. It shows your desire to work, and that’s important. Ultimately, relax and be honest at a second interview. Think about what kind of salary you’re really looking for, and know what’s common for that position. You might be asked about it. Honest answers are very important for success.

Perfect ways for revision

To some extent, everybody need to take exams to get priority of being permission. Of course, we have to revise before we go into the examination room. However, preparing for exams can be a difficult time and to support you in your preparation we have put together some tips which may help you during your revision.
As is known, revision is more than just remembering facts in nowdays when quality education is popular; it is also about learning how to answer the questions when you are in an exam room.
Rome is not built in one day and it isn’t reasonable to do it all at once. We only retain a certain amount of what we learn in a single sitting. You are far better off spreading your revision over a week than cramming the night before examing. Setting a timetable allocating certain subjects to certain times, it will help you spread your revision over all the topics and prevent you spending a lot of time on one subject and not enough on another;
Attention please. It is not only suitable for listening in class or meeting. Try to revise in an environment that you find suitable. This will not always be possible, especially if you are studying onboard, however try and enlist the support of your colleagues to make the environment as conducive as possible; Be active when revising - it’s not good enough just reading through your notes. Do past questions, make posters and mind maps - mix things up to make it more interesting
It is better to constuct a skeleton of the knowledge you study. Mind maps are a great way to learn, start with your topic in the middle and then have all your facts and topics coming off like branches of a tree. With a brief explanation of each fact. Place them around your house, on your mirror, walls & Fridge etc then you are constantly reminding yourself.
Take regular breaks, ideally you should take a 5-10 minute break every hour, perhaps make a drink or go for a walk. Changing subjects after a break is a proven technique.
Grasp the major sense and the key words of the book or a chapter. It is the topic which is discussed in the paragraph or a text. We could understand the way the author reasoned after we make the whole passage said.
If you are learning a list of chemicals, then try saying the list backwards (without looking at your notes!). Spell words back to front to make sure you really know what they look like – just remember to get them the right way around in the exam.
Discuss your revision topics with a friend in the same class, especially if you will have to write essays in the exam. See what ideas you can glean from each other – it is surprising how differently two people can approach the same questions. This is a way called “Have a good gossip”.
Make sure you show your workings or notes clearly, if you do not wish your notes to be marked, then you should cross them through.
it is important that you understand that each person will tackle their revision in a way that suits them. If you have not taken an exam for a long time, then this guide is just that – a guide and you will work out methods that suit you as you go along.
