Suburbanization

If by “suburb” is meant an urban margin that grows more rapidly than its already developed interior, the process of suburbanization began during the emergence of the industrial city in the second quarter of the nineteenth century. Before that period the city was a small highly compact cluster in which people moved about on foot and goods were conveyed by horse and cart. But the early factories built in the 1840’s were located along waterways and near railheads at the edges of cities, and housing was needed for the thousands of people drawn by the prospect of employment. In time, the factories were surrounded by proliferating mill towns of apartments and row houses that abutted the older, main cities. As a defense against this encroachment and to enlarge their tax bases, the cities appropriated their industrial neighbors. In 1854, for example, the city of Philadelphia annexed most of Philadelphia County. Similar municipal maneuvers took place in Chicago and in New York. Indeed, most great cities of the United States achieved such status only by incorporating the communities along their borders.
With the acceleration of industrial growth came acute urban crowding and accompanying social stress-conditions that began to approach disastrous proportions when, in 1888, the first commercially successful electric traction line was developed. Within a few years the horse-drawn trolleys were retired and electric streetcar networks crisscrossed and connected every major urban area, fostering a wave of suburbanization that transformed the compact industrial city into a dispersed metropolis. This first phase of mass-scale suburbanization was reinforced by the simultaneous emergence of the urban Middle Class, whose desires for homeownership in neighborhoods far from the aging inner city were satisfied by the developers of single-family housing tracts.

Can I Still Make Money On Ebay?

There were a lot of people making money on Ebay in a long time past. But is it still crowded now? In one word YES, people are still making money on Ebay. And plenty of it. I think Ebay sort of lost its popularity over the past few years but truth be told it is still a great place to make money on a part time or full time basis. Many people start with things around their house that they no longer want or need. Once they sell those items they quickly move into purchasing inventory or using dropshippers to continue selling on the site.
Some people also use Ebay to sell their original items. I think Ebay is probably one of the best places to test out how profitable something you created can be. You can put it on the site and you instantly have access to millions of people. You the fees to post your item on the site and you are up and running in no time. But most eBayers are not traders, they use eBay because they want a bargain, or they want to sell the items that they no longer want.
To give an example a friend of mine has been using eBay for a considerable number of years. He recently obtained Powerseller status for a few months, the reason? He sold off his complete model railway in a number of packages. As model railway parts command a high sale value his sales qualified him for Powerseller status. He did not make any money on this he merely re-cooped an amount of money that was dormant so that he could use it for something else, in this case a top class plasma TV and theatre kit. So really he was not trading as such.
One of the things that push most people away from Ebay are all the fees. When I first starting seling on Ebay several years ago the fees where alot cheaper. But even though fees have risen, if you do it right you can still make a ton of money selling on the site. Just have a clear plan and execute.
Consider this, if you had never sold the items you did not want you would still have them, but there monetary value would be nil to you. By selling them what have you got, your starting capital for something else, what if you should lose it all (very unlikely) you really are no worse off, you simply do not have the things you sold, which you will remember you did not want anyway.
Figure out what you want to sell and figure out our profit margins. Decide whether you want to purchase inventory or use a dropshipper. These are all important things when it comes to the success of your Ebay business. Don’t ignore Ebay because you here a few people being overly negative about it. Again its all about planning. Don’t just in head first. Take the time to learn the ins and outs of selling on Ebay and you will be successful.

Travel the world with cheap flights deal

It is difficult for the ancients to travel a long distance from one destination to other or from one country to another because of the absence of vehicles. But the invention of airplane don’t bring much convenience to all the neoterics, although it signs a new era technologically, just because there are also many people cannot afford the cost of money. But you would be reluctantly retarded. High competition among airlines has introduced a new word called “cheap flights”.
Travel the world under pocket friendly prices just by booking cheap flights. Cheap flights to destinations worldwide are available with all the airlines. What you need, is just to search the best suitable deal.
Likewise, buying a ticket on the Internet is not the same as getting the cheapest price. As with any travel agent, you may be offered the lowest price, an average price, or a test price. You still have to make comparisons and move boldly when a deal presents itself. A good strategy is to book the best-value, fully-refundable fare early, then continue looking for something better to pop up. You may find an attractive price on the main leg, but a high one on the connect. Try reversing the search, or book one leg at a time. Allow at least three hours between flights for international departures/changeovers.
With a little research travelers can easily find cheap airline tickets of their own. To get the best deal as cheap as possible check websites of the travel companies providing cheap airlines. It’s quite often that prices of flights change very frequently. Keep update yourselves regularly.
You can also take the membership of travel companies providing cheap flights. You can subscribe for daily newsletters and airfares. It will help you a lot to keep the knowledge of airfares and flights regularly. It is also a good idea to search the airline’s websites directly because in many cases they will offer great bargains when you look with them.
Foreign airlines usually sell the bulk of their discounted tickets to bucket shops in ethnic neighborhoods which mostly serve their own nationality. A travel agency in Koreatown in Los Angeles may have good deals on Korea Air to Seoul. Chinatown in San Francisco has a dozen competitive travel agencies with specials to all over Asia.
Sometimes these ethnic agencies only advertise in local ethnic-language newspapers, and they may not be able to speak clear English over the phone, but they should be considered if you happen to be in the neighborhood.
These are a series of tickets on one or several airlines pieced together by a travel agent, offering multiple stops. Usually only the first leg must be booked in advance. Travel must be completed within one year from departure. Any route can be configured, but bucket shops advertise the especially good deals, which often include carriers such as Garuda Indonesia and Air India that allow free or cheap stopovers.
Airlines will reduce costs by eliminating pilots–the head flight attendant will command the back button. Also, I now believe the ultimate configuration won’t be magnificent flying wings, but externally propelled saucers.

Turnkey Internet Marketing System

As the online home bosses are greatly increasing recently, there are more and more internet marketing systerm emerging each day. As one newbie, turnkey Internet marketing system can create income for your home based online business when it is focused and applied diligently.
As a online marketing system, a focused turnkey Internet marketing system owns its characteristics. Email capture and auto responder system to acknowledge customer inquiries and purchases immediately, Automatic follow-up email to paying customers to create repeat customers, A regularly updated blog that focuses on trends in the industry and highlights products or services that you offer, Posted ads on related and complementary information sites and online businesses, Monthly newsletter offering specials, new product information, and incentives to purchase the products and services you offer in your home based business.
It is not a gratuitous prize due to its properties of a business. You have to do a number of things in order for your home based business website to be readily available to potential customers. The amount of money you make online directly relates to the amount of marketing and effort you put into generating new clients and putting the word out about your home based Internet business.
First you should register your website with as many search engines and industry related online directories as possible and purchase advertising on popular sites where people who need what you have to offer may often visit online to enlarge the traffic of your website. Offer to trade links with sites that would interest your customers, offering both of you the chance to gain more traffic. Write articles and post them in free article directories including a link to your site. When people post your article, you establish yourself as an expert and also advertise what you have to offer on sites with blogs, newsletters, and other content related to the focus of your online business.
Most of the time, simple and old-fashioned methods may work better than new measures. Rather than spending big bucks on a broad advertising campaign and hoping that you end up getting noticed by a potential customer, go straight to where your customer will be. Let them know what you have to offer and let your products and services do the rest, once you get them to visit your site.
Acknowledging your customers and website visitors when they purchase something on your site or ask a question, following up with newsletters and offering solid return policies and customer service will turn these new customers into repeat customers.
It is extremely important to service patiently including answering inquries, coping problems, and etc. Maintaining and keeping customers is a 90 percent more efficient way to spend your marketing dollars than pulling in new ones, so when developing your Internet marketing system, don’t forget to direct some of your attention toward those who have already patronized your new online home based business.

Evaluate the dream of becoming their own work from home boss

Even in a recession, younger workers “still value work-life balance above all else when listing top characteristics of an ideal entry-level employer, placing it well above other factors such as salary and meaningful work,” according to a BusinessWeek survey.
Believe it or not, there are cons to being your own work from home boss. For example, while it may seem desirable to be able to make all of your own decisions, that responsibility can also be a bit frightening. After all, the entire success of your business is dependant upon you and your ability to make the right decisions. The wrong decision can cause your entire business to fall apart. When you work for someone else, particularly a large and established company, one wrong decision may set the company back but, in most cases, you will still have a job and feel very little repercussion from the bad decision.
Employees who work from home — either by choice or because their employers require it — risk being passed over for promotions. According to a report on executives’ opinions on telecommuting:
More than 60% of global executives surveyed by the Korn/Ferry International subsidiary believe telecommuters are less likely to advance in their careers in comparison to traditional office workers. Interestingly, though, 78% of those execs feel telecommuters are either equally or more productive than those who work in offices. What’s more, remote workers may also find themselves working at odd hours; answering e-mails at 10 p.m. or picking up the phone when it rings after 5 p.m.
Another downfall to being your own work from home boss is liability. When most people first start out, they form a sole proprietorship for tax purposes. This is because there is no extra paperwork involved and is, by far, the easiest business formation to follow.
I know dozens of former co-workers who have used these tactics to successfully arrange full- and part-time work-from-home privileges — even four-day workweeks. If you’re interested in working from home, I hope they work for you.

Strategies to build your list up

Before revealing the secrets of the trades, there are myths and fallacies that need to be cleared before one indulges into building an opt-in list. These marketing misconceptions could pose so much of an obstacle towards your profiting well from your business.
One of the ways you can combine marketing and customer service is through opt-in marketing. With an opt-in list you get the opportunity to introduce your site/products on a good time basis. Opt-in marketing strategy is a marketing strategy that is virtually low cost and not time consuming.
After clearing the fog regarding email marketing myths, here’s how one can benefit from employing the power of email marketing campaigns - building an opt-in list.
Well written articles full of content and useful information will help in building your list as more subscribers will be enticed to join your list. When they have read the samples of your content in your sites, they will be intrigued as to what will come next. Subscribing to your newsletter will offer them a glimpse of what you have to offer next.
Many sites and companies have captured the importance of articles, and this also aids in search engine optimization. As more people are heading towards the internet for their information needs, serving the right information to them via articles, will increase the flow of your website traffic. With more traffic, the percentage of your sales will grow. More sales then turn into more profit.
For article marketing to be effective, you must write and submit articles regularly with attention given to the quality. Your articles must provide very good information. One of my article marketing mentors always taught that the higher your article volume, the higher all of your other numbers, including the number of people on your list, would be. In order to grow your responsive list quickly, it’s recommended that you work at submitting one article everyday. This may initially seem a daunting task and you may wonder where you could possibly find information to write one article per day. Hopefully, as part of your initial marketing plan you have already determined your niche; therefore your articles would be geared to providing content for the people in your niche.
However, building an opt-in list is not a piece of cake particularly for the uninitiated. Here is a roundown of tips on how to succeed in this kind of marketing endeavor.
Strategic Collection of Data
Know which information from your audiences will help you in lowering expenses and/or make sales flourish. Devise a tactic to make people voluntarily provide you with the information necessary to create higher conversion.
Overload of data is not good. Ask only for opt-in, with their full name and email addresses. Make sure that the profiles that you gather are updated to aid in improving the relevance, timeliness and satisfaction from each deal you make.
Good Implementation
Old adage says it all - ‘action speaks louder than words’. This easily translates to the difficulty one has to undergo during the execution of his or her email marketing efforts. It’s a good thing that various methods, often low-cost, abound to hasten and facilitate the building up of one’s opt-in database.
Tracking your email marketing results can pose great hardship, too. Technology and relevant sources should be employed in making this aspect of your marketing a lot manageable. Your high traffic groups of opt-ins with the greatest result should be taken noted of.

the nose of ads

It’s the age of advertisement. The ad companies have acute senses to activate the public to like the products the sports players recommend. If a woman has been acknowledged as the best tennis-player in the world, she can acquire a lot of money from advertisements. Of course, she must pay some additional charges as taxes to the Tax Administration. Usually, the woman will adjust herself to the change of her life and soon she will adapt herself to it. As a sports player, her earnings isn’t always adequate to meet her needs. In addition to a beautiful house, she also wants to buy luxury cars. It’s normal that a famous sports player’s cars add up to five. In addition, some rich sports players liked to buy acres of land as their properties, thus they can have their outdoor activities conveniently. Sometimes some acquaintances of the sports players are popular too because their house are adjacent to the players. Their houses adjoin the players’, which make them proud and happy. An adjective for this phenomenon is, “snobbish”.

To Reuse And Recycle Books And Magazines

We human beings have been teaching knowledge by pages of books or magazines since paper was invented thousands of year ago. More than any other material we hope to recycle, books and magazines represent knowledge. We find wisdom in the pages of old books, and learn about culture in the pages of old magazines. Because of these factors, the best thing to do with old books and magazines is passing them on.
If this is accepted by all of readers, there would be lots of paper, ink, water, even work of printing, that can be left over. Particularly in this era of desert enlarging, as more and more old-growth trees are cut down, and we face the reality of having to wait close to 100 years or more to replace them, the need to recycle paper becomes increasingly important.
Paper, of course, includes books and magazines. Although paper products are nearly 100% biodegradable, it is pointless to send these resources to the dump to rot in the landfill. You could find many ways for recycling paper.
The simpliest way is donating. Your local library or college library will accept donations of old books, and sometimes magazines in good shape. This allows other people to benefit from the publication as well. It can also beneficial for your spiritual life and more people would be educated. Once you have enjoyed your book, donate it to a library rather than letting it sit on a shelf to collect dust.
The second choice, for both books and magazines, is to sell them to a used bookstore, at a garage sale, flea market, or on eBay. Other people may be looking for the exact book or magazine you have; passing it on is a win-win scenario for you and the new owner. You can take a bit income simutaneously to compliment the shortage of revenue.
If you wish to reuse publications in a creative way, magazines make good colorful craft supplies for children and adults. You can cut out parts of pictures to make collages by pasting the picture pieces to a cardboard backing; or make hanging mobiles by cutting out shapes, stringing pieces of thread through holes at the top, and attaching the strings to a clothes hanger. This is a effective way for your cartoon and art books.
As for traditional recycling, some areas will let you place books or magazines in your blue bin for pickup as well. Many publishers print magazines on glossy paper. It is more expensive to recycle glossy paper because the demand is low for this type of paper. This will change in the future as the need to recycle paper becomes more important.
The biggest challenge with recycling books and magazines is separating the paper from the adhesives or staples used to bind the pages. Forward-thinking recycling companies have a way to remove the waste from the bindings magnetically; in the future we should begin to see growing opportunities to recycle all kinds of paper products.
Once you are affected subconsciously, the next time you’re thinking about throwing away some books or magazines, think first about how you can pass them along for others to enjoy. If that doesn’t work for you, try to reuse them creatively. If you still can’t find a use for them, look for places to take them where they can be recycled into new paper products, so we can save more trees.
